Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud revealed the initiative, stating that it aims to streamline communication between the court and advocates.
WhatsApp Integration for Judicial Updates
Under this new system, advocates will receive automated WhatsApp messages containing vital information such as cause lists and case filings. Cause lists, which detail the cases scheduled for a particular day’s hearing, will now be conveniently accessible on mobile devices as soon as they are published. CJI Chandrachud emphasized the potential impact of this initiative, highlighting the widespread use of WhatsApp as a powerful communication tool in daily life.
Environmental Benefits and Technological Advancements
In addition to improving accessibility, the integration of WhatsApp messaging services is expected to bring about significant changes in work habits and contribute to environmental conservation by reducing paper usage.
