The day holds a special place in heart of all Hindus, as Hinu lord Shree Ram took birth on this special day as a human who was the 7th Avataar of Lord Vishnu. a simple boy born to the king of Ayodhya Dashrath and his 1st wife Kaushalya. This avataar of load Vishnu is said to be the ideal human being and also is the symbol of truth, bravery and courage.

According to the Hindu scripters King of Ayodhya, Dasharath had 3 wives performed Ashwamegha Yagya for putra Prapti (for sons) on the recommendation of Maharishi Vashistha. After the yagna, all his 3 wives were given a bowl of Kheer (Indian desert) it was believed that after the consumption of the kheer, they would become mother of Sons, after that Sumitra gave birth to Lord Shatrughan and Lord Lakshaman, Kaikeyi gave birth to Lord Bharat and Kaushalya gave birth to Lord Ram. Since then, the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram is celebrated as Ram Navmi as he was born on the 9th day of Chaitra month.

The day is celebrated with full of enthusiasm since ever, many of the devotees organize Bhajans at their place and also read the holy book RamCharit Manas. Many of the devotees make sure that they visit the birthplace of lord Ram and seek blessings. people also dip in the holy Saryu river then visit the Rama temple to participate in birthday celebration in the traditional way at his janmabhoomi (Birthplace).
