यह है भारत का पहला Digital Village!
The prestigious title of being India’s first digital village has been bestowed upon Akodara village in Gujarat’s district of Sabarkantha.
The community, which has 250 dwellings and 1,191 residents overall, accepts payments for goods and services via a variety of cashless methods. Every transaction in the village is done online using debit cards, net banking, or SMS.
Through the use of digital technology, ICICI Bank adopted the village in 2015 as part of its Digital Village Project, making it cashless.
To mark the ICICI group’s 60 years of existence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ICICI Bank MD and CEO Chanda Kochar announced the project in January 2016.
Every home in the village has a savings account at the nearby ICICI Bank branch.
