Budget 2024.:The term “budget” was coined approximately two centuries ago, and its origin is linked to the French word “Baugette,” meaning a small bag. Interestingly, the connection between the English word ” Baugette ” and the French term is rooted in history. Around 200 years ago, in 1733, the former Finance Minister of England arrived at Parliament carrying all the financial accounts for the year in a small bag. When asked about the bag’s contents, he replied, “There is a budget for you in this bag.” This incident led to the adoption of the term “budget” to refer to financial plans presented to Parliament.
