Iran captured Israeli Ship: Highjacked cargo had 17 Indians on board

Iran captured Israeli Ship: Tensions between Iran and Israel have come up in seemingly evident manner with Irani forces capturing an Israeli affiliated ship with Indians onboard on Saturday. Lets know the whole matter.

Israeli ship captured

A video is being surfaced on social media showing Irani commandos rappelling down a rope from a helicopter onto an Israeli affiliated ship near the strait of Hormuz and took control of the vessel.

According to the Times of Israel, the Iran’s paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was behind the attack. Iran’s state run IRNA also said that a special force unit of IRNA carried out the attack on the Israeli ship. The vessel was Portuguese flagged MSC Aries. The container ship/cargo was associated with the London based Zodiac Maritime which is part of the Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Group.

The video which was first reported by Associate Press was about the accident which took place near the Strait of Hormuz.

The Geneva based MSC confirmed the seizure mentioning the presence of 25  crew members onboard when the ship was attacked. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have said that the vessel will be taken to Iranian waters. According to the media reports, the captured ship had 17 Indians onboard.

Israel-Iran tensions

On Monday April 1, Iran’s embassy was bombed by a air strike in Syria’s capital Damascus. The attack reportedly killed 7 Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps commanders including two generals.

Israel has been preparing itself for a war breakout with Iran confidently saying that Israel will not sit over these attacks and will give appropriate answers. Israel’s Foreign Minister Katz called on various nations to label the IRGC as a terrorist organisation.
