Preeti Dalal Mukhtar Ansari Death: The death of convicted criminal Mukhtar Ansari in police custody has stirred up the political atmosphere of Uttar Pradesh. Mukhtar Ansari, who served as the lawmaker from Mau has been charged and convicted for a series of criminal cases. He has been imprisoned since 2005. He has been a member of Legislature Assembly from the Mau seat in UP ever since 1996 to 2002 completing 5 terms. He has fought from BSP, IND, QED and BSP and his son Abbas Ansari is serving as MLA from Mau seat from Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party.
Hundreds Chant the name- Mukhtar Ansari
Hundreds of people gathered outside his house on Thursday night following his death by what the hospital authorities called a Cardiac Arrest.
People were seen chanting “Long Live Mukhtar Ansari”.
Mukhtar Ansari has a a great following in Gazipur and Mau. His followers have been mourning his death calling him the messiah (saviour) of the poor. As he was elected MLA for 25 years, the public of Mau and Gazipur has been in constant support for him.

Guilty of Murder of Krishnanand Rai
Ansari was found guilty for the murder of BJP MLA from Mohammadabad in Gazipur district in the year 2005. The wife of Krishnanand Rai, Alka Rai said that justice has been served with the death of Ansari. He was sentenced for 10 years of Prison in the 2023 for the murder of Rai.

On the death of Ansari, Alka Rai has said that she never celebrated the festival of Holi after the death of her husband, but today it feels like Holi to her. He said She said they never celebrated Holi following the murder of her husband. “We never celebrated Holi after the incident (the murder), I felt that today is Holi for us. What is there to see? It is a day of happiness for those children who were orphaned because a criminal has been removed from the earth.”
Alka Rai visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple for Darshan of Lord Shiv.
